One day in eleven years ago, Yi ling (Mr. Guo), Mo gen (Xiao Guofu), Widow(Zhang Hongbo), Hei Yue (Ji Shengli), Xinghui (Li Xinhui) settled in Yuanmingyuan art village in the early nineties. They came from different places for that gathering in Beijing and decided to hold a luxury exhibition themselves. They invited all their friends to the Wangfujin Crowne Plaza to present their creation and thoughts which was brought out within the five years after they left Yuanmingyuan art village.

There’s no clear direction overall the exhibition, it is rather than a genre. These different people have individual temperament, and each has a unique artistic language. They were faithful to their own feelings and focused on exploration of the spiritual world. Zhang Hongbo suggested using numbers, symbols or symbolic figures to be the theme, and then they called "2000-1". Unexpectedly, his artworks were cut because his creative and ironic expression didn’t pass the review before the show regarding the naked human who were eating,drinking, playing in heaven world.  
One day, they have a talk among the five artists. The result is the 2010 can not be cut this time, so it is "2010 +1”. "2010 +1" is simple, but different,"2010 +1" can be equal to 5 and can also be equal to any other number.  
One day,Yuanmingyuan artist  DuFU  with his work came from Guangzhou Province.
One day, Dutch artist ED with his work came from Denmark.

                                        2000-1=?

    一天，新辉来找我说一起办个画展。我说都有谁？他说：黑月。老郭。摩根。再加上你和我。我说：好啊。于是，我们就召集大伙儿开了个会，第一次会议的结果是给画展取了个名字《2000—1=5》。壹是伊灵的谐音，伊灵是老郭的笔名，减壹就是减老郭了。我们开玩笑说：老郭年级最大，减他比较适合。老郭听后乐了。后来由于我的画无法通过审批，不得已我的这些作品就只能出现在画册上了。减壹就变成减我了。现在想起当初随意取的一个名字还真有点预言味道，除此之外它是否还暗示点什么现在我还无法知道。
    一天，黑月（季胜利或者123）坐在黄昏的画廊里，安静的如同他熟睡的儿子，当晚霞的最后一丝光辉掠过头顶，黑月猛然睁开眼睛叫道：光真好！从此，黑月找到了令他愉快而满足的工作——画光。黑月画的光即不印象也不抽象，他画的是生活里的光和心中的光，自然，亲切，安静。在光中只有123这个精心雕琢的名字浮动着，黑月想象着自己光彩的生活。活在阳光里是多么健康美妙。黑月这么想着也这么干着。
    一天，摩根（肖国富）对我说再画一张画就不画了。我以为他要就此封笔，隐居苗疆。后来才知道他的手需要再度做手术不得不停下他喜爱的工作。摩根是练邪门功夫的，但他现在的画里已经很少有魔幻诡异的痕迹了，摩根已从闭关练功走向人群。他的画远比城市的天空透亮，透明的水，透明的身体。摩根称他的作品为“熟悉的陌生人”，看着摩根画里那些人的眼睛还真有些陌生熟悉的味道：空茫，木然，混沌。象在期待些什么又象仅仅是眼睛而已。

    一天，我去新辉的画室，见满屋的星星，我还以为进了天文馆。新辉说：他在考虑星星的各种可能性。在一年的时间里新辉画了很多星星，和星星同行。一定要把新辉的画与环境污染这样的问题联系在一起，多少有些牵强，不过谁又愿意在被遮蔽的天空下生活呢？在新辉的星光下我感到自己在飞翔。

    一天，黑月说老郭喝过的酒比我们喝过的水还多。我们和老郭都愿意接受这个有些夸张的说法。老郭不仅喝过很多酒，他还走过很多路。多年以前他就走完了不少于两万五千里的路，说是考察民间艺术。有时候你会觉得他的画象图像化了的日记，记录着老郭的内心，情感，希望，想象，以及生活琐事，某个人的电话号码或是老郭发脾气时骂的脏话都可能是他作品的内容或是一件新作的动机。这一次老郭展出以眼睛为主题的作品：艺术家眼里的眼睛。城市那么脏，老郭的眼里会不会有沙子？老郭继续喝着二锅头走着他的新长征路。
    一天，我问自己：性别真的很重要么？我被我的提问吓了一跳，那时我想着自己就是女人。后来，我又想在性别之外，性别边缘是不是作为人的存在的可能？我想象自己是女人，从女人的角度想象自己是男人，也从男人的角度想象自己作为男人，或者既是男人也是女人，或者都不是。再后来，我就想虚拟一种美好的生活，让他们活在其中，他们在天上过着人间的生活。他们吃着，喝着，干着，想着，飞着，鬼魅着。
    一天，我们又开了个会，会议的结果是把画展的名字改成《2000—1》可以等于五，也可以等于其它任何一个数，《2001—1》究竟等于几？这个类似歌德巴赫猜想的问题就只好留给下个世纪了。

One day, xinhui said to me“let’s have an exhibition together”.I asked him who else would participate? He said: “hei yue,Laoguo,Morgen,you and me”.I siad, “Great idea!”`That’s why we all got together and had a meeting. The result of the first meeting was the title of the exhibition“2001-1=5”. later, we realiesd’Yi’ has the same sound as the frist syllable of Yiling, and Yiling is the pseudony of  Lao guo. If you subtract one that means you should subtract  Laoguo. We said laughing: “Laoguo is the eldest,subracting him would be the most suitable”.Lao guo laughed when he head this. Later on we could not get permission to exhibit my paintings, that’s why my paintings are only shown in the catalogue.Subtrcting“Yi” became subtrcting me. When I now think about the title,so carelessly made up back then, it really feels like it predicted something.What else it might suggest,I do not know ringt now.

One day, Heiyue(JiShengli or 123)was sitting in his studio at dusk ,as peacefully as his sleeping son. At the last glow of sunset brightened his hair,Heiyue suddenly opened his eyes and proclaimed, “The light is really good!”Form then,Heiyue started woking on something that made him happy and satisfied—painting light.The lingt that Heiyue paints is neither impressionist not abstract; he paints the linght of life and the lingt in one’ heart. Natural ,touching,peaceful.In this light only 123-this meticulous sculptural name-floats. Heiyue thinks of his own his own light in life. Living is sunlinght is healthy and beautiful,Heiyue thinks and is that way.
One day, Morgen (XiaoGuofu) said to me that he would paint one more painting and would then stop painting. I though that these would be his last strokes with a brush,and that he would start living in solitude in a remote Miao minority village. Afterwords I realized that his hand needed an operation,and that he thus had to stop doing the work he liked so much. Morgen practiced an unusual form of martial arts, however his latest work shows only a little mysticism.Mogen has gone from practising a solitary kind of martial arts towards being with people. His painting are much brighter than the city’s sky, brighter than water,brighter than human bodies.Morgen calls his works’ familiar strangers’.
One day, I was in Xinhu’ studio and saw a room full of stars. I felt as if I had entered an astronomy observatory. Xinhui said he was considering all the possibilities that stars hold. In one year Xinhui has painted many stars, and when I asked him how many more he wants to paint,his answer was that he dose not know. During starless nights you need to imagine the stars. Thus Xinhui sits through many nights longing for stars,painting stars,travelling with the stars. Xinhui’s paintings definitely do have a connection with environmental problems. The extent might be farfetched, however who wants to live under a covered sky? In the light of Xinhui’s stars I have the feelingthat I am flying.
One day , heiyue said that Lao Guo drinks even more alcohol than we drink water.Both we and Lao Guo are willing to accept this slightiy exaggerated statemednt.Lao Guo has not only drunk lots of alcohol，he has also walked many roads. many years ago,he covered not less than 25,000 li in order to understand minority art.Sometimes you have the feeling that his paintings are just a existence.Someones's phone number or LaoGuo's cursing words when angry ,all might appear in his paintings or might be the subject of a new painting.This time Lao Guo exhibits paintings that all have to do with eyes:eyes seen through the eyes of an artist.The city is so dirty,could it be that Lao Guo has sand in his eyes?Lao Guo just keeps drinking his "Erguotou'and walking his new long march.

One day. I asked myself;"Is sexual distinction really important ?'This question scared me,as at that time I was trying to imagine myself as a woman.I thought again,does anything except man or woman exist on the border of the sexes?I imagined myself as a woman ,using a female point of view to imagine myself as a man.I also imagined myself as a man from a male point of view,or not a man or not a woman,or both.Than I imagine a beautiful life and  let them live there ;they live a man's life in heaven.They eat,drink ,sleep,do,think,fly and evil.

One day ,we had another meeting.The result of the meeting was that the title of the exhibition changed to "2000-1',"2000-1'could be five,it could also be any other number."2000-1'what can it equal?It's like Goldbach's conjecture,it's bset left to the next century for discovery..
